Wanaka Lakefront Development, Wanaka

With a vision to create fresh open spaces and people-friendly places on the shores of Lake Wanaka, the Queenstown Lakes District Council has embarked on a multi-stage Wanaka Lakefront Development Plan.

During Stage Three, completed in 2021, the Council and Blakely Construction partnered to construct a boardwalk along the lake’s edge and a shared pathway for pedestrians and cyclists that connects Wanaka’s Town Centre with the Marina. Combined with the large-scale planting of native vegetation, the lakefront has been transformed for the enjoyment of Wanaka residents and visitors.

Table settings and seating solutions from the Urban Effects Liffiton Range have been positioned to provide the perfect vantage points for people to picnic or simply sit and relax while taking in the spectacular views across the lake to the snow-capped mountains. Crafted from local, sustainably sourced timbers, the Liffiton seats with back and arm rests and Liffiton table settings, lend a contemporary aesthetic without detracting from the natural features of the landscape the Council is working to protect and enhance for generations to come.
