Enhancing student spaces with custom, functional outdoor furniture.

Paeroa College in Waikato recently embarked on a project to upgrade its student lunch facilities with a new covered seating area designed to provide students with a comfortable and functional space to enjoy their lunchtime outdoors.

Urban Effects collaborated directly with the school to supply a tailored furniture solution, including custom Legend Straight Benches featuring laser-cut school logos, Liffiton Table Settings, and Gavarres Single Bin Enclosures (120L) installed throughout the campus. The Legend benches and Liffiton tables were powdercoated in Hawthorn Green colour that aligned with the school’s brand, reinforcing a strong visual identity.

To ensure the longevity of the hardwood surfaces, the tables and benches were re-sanded and treated with timber oil to prevent moss buildup and maintain its pristine appearance. This project exemplifies how effective collaboration can result in school outdoor spaces that are both highly functional and reflective of a school’s values—supporting student wellbeing, pride, and community.
