Lincoln High School

Lincoln High School in Ōtautahi / Christchurch is a contemporary, co-educational secondary school that takes a holistic approach to learning and development. As part of a major upgrade to their campus – including new classroom blocks – the school needed outdoor furniture that complemented the modern architecture and supported everyday student life.

Urban Effects worked closely with the Lincoln High school’s Property Manager Toni Soppet and landscaper Aaron Bartlett from The Outdoor Space to design and deliver a solution.

The brief was clear: robust, durable NZ made furniture, a cohesive look, and a fast turnaround.

From the first enquiry in July, the project progressed quickly – with the seats and tables all manufactured, supplied and installed by September, ready for classes to begin in Term 4.

Both the school and the contractor appreciated the ease of the process and the result.

A total of 14 Liffiton Benches with custom powdercoated frames and four Woodlands Table Settings were positioned around the new classroom blocks, creating multiple spaces for students to socialise, eat, study and connect. The clean, contemporary profiles of the hardwood benches and tables provide a simple, stylish touch while offering the strength and sturdiness stand up to daily use.
